Rules

Next violations will lead to a direct DQ and you will be brought back to the gathering point:

  1. Using electronic aids and other aids: gsm, gps, watch, cash, electronic cards,….
  2. Asking for help from third parties. You don’t talk to anyone, not even the fellow participants.
  3. Breaking the seal of the emergency phone.
  4. Leaving parts behind from the backpack (to third parties). The backpack will/can be weighed at random times. The weight must always be more than the dry weight (18kg). Do realize the material is needed for safety: if you give up and it rains, you need stuff to stay warm while waiting for pickup.
  5. Do not take red roads (Nationals) and/or yellow roads. The exception is to cross a railway, highway and river.
The intention is that you leave this road as quickly as possible. (next exit possible).
  6. Passing center of villages. The basic rule is that you need to walk around it (unless clearly indicated it is allowed).
  7. Crossing the highways by running over the tarmac.  You have to take a bridge or tunnel (red and yellow roads are allowed).
  8. Crossing the railway track at a random spot. You must use the official cross points.
  9. It is forbidden to walk on the bed of a railway. You can follow the track of the railway in the grass/forest next to the railway.
  10. Use of private real estate. Eg: to sleep in/under. You must use your sleeping bag / baggy / tent to take (short) rests on public ground (forrest).

What is allowed

  1. You can cross private property. Do it in silence and with respect: don’t damage fences or other private stuff. If you can avoid it, better do so.
  2. You can cross rivers. When the water is higher than the hips, do not continue and return. Then better find a bridge. When you navigate well and smart, there is no need to cross a river.
